Course Description

1 Exam Conducting Body:

MHT-CET is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, under the guidance of the Government of Maharashtra.

2 Courses Offered:

MHT-CET is primarily conducted for admission to undergraduate courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.),  Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), and Bachelor of  Science (B.Sc) in Agriculture and allied fields.

3 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have passed Class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English as compulsory subjects. The minimum percentage required in the qualifying examination may vary depending on the course and category of the candidate.

4 Exam Pattern:

MHT-CET is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) based examination.

The exam consists of three papers:

Paper I: Mathematics (for Engineering and Pharmacy courses)

Paper II: Physics and Chemistry (for Engineering and Pharmacy courses)

Paper III: Biology (Botany and Zoology) (for Pharmacy and Agriculture courses)

Each paper is of 100 marks, and the duration of each paper is 90 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

5 Syllabus:

The syllabus for MHT-CET is based on the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) curriculum for classes 11 and 12.

For Engineering courses, the syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For Pharmacy and Agriculture courses, the syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

6 Admission Process:

After the declaration of MHT-CET results, candidates are required to participate in the centralized counseling process conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell for seat allocation in various colleges and courses based on their ranks and preferences.

7 Preparation:

Preparation for MHT-CET involves thorough study and revision of concepts from the Class 11 and 12 syllabi. Solving previous years' question papers and taking mock tests are essential strategies to familiarize oneself with the exam pattern and improve time management skills.
